2. Acceptance of Terms

If you do not agree to any part of these terms, please do not use this website or engage our services.
3. Description of Services
Amanat Law provides legal services in the area of personal estate law, including will drafting, probate support, and estate planning counsel. These services are available to individuals in Malaysia, with particular experience serving clients in Sarawak.
The content of this website is for general information purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. A formal solicitor-client relationship is established only upon execution of a client care letter and payment of an agreed retainer or fee.
We reserve the right to decline to act for any person at our professional discretion, and will explain our reasons if we are unable to assist.
4. Your Responsibilities
When using this website or our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information in all dealings with us
- Not use this website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could cause harm to others
- Not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems
- Inform us promptly of any change in your circumstances that may affect your instructions
- Treat our staff with respect at all times
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to our services where these responsibilities are not met.
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, design, and structure, is the property of Amanat Law or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish any content from this website without our prior written consent.
Legal documents prepared for you by our solicitors are prepared for your personal use and the purposes set out in our engagement. They may not be shared or reproduced for commercial use without our agreement.
6. Fees and Payment
All fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are set out in the client care letter issued before work begins. Fees quoted are for straightforward matters; additional complexity may affect the total, and will always be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding.
Disbursements such as court filing fees, stamp duty, and government searches are payable in addition to our professional fees and will be notified to you in advance. Payment is accepted by bank transfer or at our office. Services will not be concluded until fees have been settled in full.
There are no refunds once legal work has commenced, unless we have made an error. Any such situation will be addressed directly and in good faith.
7. Professional Conduct and Scope
All solicitors at Amanat Law are members of the Malaysian Bar and are bound by the Legal Profession Act 1976 and the Rules of the Malaysian Bar. Our services are governed by these professional obligations, which take precedence over these Terms & Conditions in the event of any conflict.
Scope changes — for example, adding additional beneficiaries to a will or extending probate work beyond its initial scope — will be discussed, costed, and agreed in writing before additional work is undertaken.
8. Disclaimers
The information on this website is provided in good faith for general purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Specific legal advice should always be obtained from a qualified solicitor before taking action.
We do not make any representation about the suitability of any particular legal arrangement for your circumstances. Outcomes depend on facts that are specific to each client and which can only be assessed in consultation with a solicitor.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with our services is limited to the fees paid by you for those services. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses arising from the use of our website or services.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Termination of Engagement
Either party may end the solicitor-client relationship at any time by giving written notice. You will be billed for work completed up to the point of termination. We may also cease acting where continued representation would be in conflict with our professional obligations.
Your obligations in respect of fees for completed work and confidentiality survive termination.
11. Disputes and Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising in connection with our services shall first be referred to informal resolution between the parties. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, and specifically the courts in Kuching, Sarawak.
Complaints about our conduct as solicitors may also be referred to the Malaysian Bar's Complaints Committee.
12. General Provisions
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not waive our ability to enforce it in future.
These Terms & Conditions, together with our client care letter and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between us in relation to the use of our website and services.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes to active client engagements will be communicated directly. Continued use of the website following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
