How Amanat Law came to be
The practice was established in 2009 by a small group of solicitors who noticed a gap in Kuching's legal landscape: families dealing with bereavement often found legal processes cold, hurried, and hard to follow. They wanted to do things differently.
The name "Amanat" — meaning a trust or mandate in Malay — captures what the firm stands for. When a client entrusts their estate wishes to us, we treat that as a genuine responsibility: something to be handled carefully and returned intact to the people they care about.
Over the years, we have worked with individuals from across Sarawak — from Kuching to Miri and beyond — helping them put things in order at a time that suits them, without pressure or unnecessary complication.

Roslan bin Ahmad
Founding Partner
Called to the Bar in 2004, Roslan has spent over two decades focusing on estate and succession matters. He leads consultations for complex probate cases and multi-party estates.
Linda Hii Mei Ling
Senior Solicitor
Linda joined in 2012 and handles will drafting and estate planning counsel. She is known for her patient, methodical approach and her ability to explain matters across language backgrounds.
Fadzillah binti Nordin
Associate Solicitor
Fadzillah focuses on probate administration and correspondence with Amanah Raya and the High Court. She assists families through the administrative stages of estate settlement with steady care.

Bar Council membership
All solicitors are members in good standing of the Malaysian Bar and hold current practising certificates.

Every instruction is held in strict confidence. Documents and personal information are stored securely and never shared without your express consent.

Each matter is reviewed internally before any documents are finalised. A second set of eyes checks wills and probate applications for accuracy and completeness.

We do not proceed to the next stage until you have confirmed you understand and are comfortable with what has been explained to you.

Costs are set out in a client care letter before work begins. No additional charges arise without prior discussion and your agreement.

Our team has extensive experience filing in the Kuching High Court and coordinating with local registries, which supports smoother handling of probate applications.
Our Approach
Estate law in Sarawak, handled with patience

Our practice covers the full range of personal estate law needs: drafting wills that speak clearly for you in the future, guiding families through the probate process after a loss, and helping individuals plan how their estate will be managed over the years ahead. Each service is shaped around the individual — their family situation, their assets, their pace.
Wills drafted by our solicitors follow the requirements of the Wills Act 1959 and are checked for legal validity before signing. Probate matters are handled through the relevant Sarawak court, with our team managing correspondence and document submission so that families can focus on what matters most. Estate planning counsel draws on knowledge of both civil and, where relevant, Islamic succession principles as they apply in Sarawak.
We are a modest-sized practice, and that is deliberate. It means that the solicitor you meet at the outset is the same person who sees your matter through. There are no handoffs to junior staff you have never met, and no change in approach once your file is opened.
